After a long day at Universal Orlando with some friends, we enjoyed dinner at NBC Sports Grill. We did make a reservation about two weeks out, as Universal CityWalk restaurants are requiring advance reservations now.
We were a bit early for our reservation, so we checked in and they told us they would text us when our table was ready. We took the time to explore the new Universal Studios Store in CityWalk.
Not long after our reservation time, we got a text saying our table was ready. We were seated in the downstairs area of the restaurant.
Universal does not have allergy menus, and there was nothing noted as “Gluten Free” on the menu. I informed our server that I had to eat gluten free, and she said they had gluten free buns and gluten free pasta.
I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Pasta, which comes with a tomato cream sauce, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, eggplant, penne pasta, garlic, and basil. I ordered it with the gluten free pasta.
I also ordered a side Caesar Salad (without croutons) to come out before my food because I was very hungry.
The Caesar Salad was good, just a standard Caesar Salad. The Vegetable Pasta was fantastic. I didn’t like the eggplant in it, but everything else was cooked perfectly! The zucchini and squash were tender, but not too mushy, and really went well with the texture of the pasta. The tomato cream sauce was also really good with all of the vegetables.
Overall, I would definitely eat at NBC Sports Grill again. I have tried their gluten free buns on one of their sandwiches before (picture below) and it was okay, but the bun was kind of crumbly. I would recommend their pasta over one of their sandwiches.
