Wine Bar George Gluten Free Lunch Review
*This review was written June 2020, during COVID-19, so certain experiences may change in the future*
*Wine Bar George is not owned by Disney, so allergy polices may vary*
Yesterday we visited Wine Bar George in Disney Springs for Lunch. We booked a reservation for noon, right when they opened, so that we could eat outside. We were second in line when they opened and were seated upstairs on their balcony. Even though it was June, the breeze was nice and we didn’t feel hot at all. We were given paper bags to put our masks in so they didn’t sit on the table.
The server asked about allergies and I said gluten. He then asked if a shared grill was okay. I said yes as mine is an intolerance and not an allergy, but if you have Celiac or an allergy, it might not be safe for you.
There were QR codes throughout the restaurant that linked to the various menus, one of them being the allergy menu. Screenshots are shown below:
First we ordered some drinks, Hubby got a glass of Chardonnay and I got the Frozcato made with Dole Whip Pineapple, it had Moscato, Vodka, and Pineapple.
For lunch I ordered the Steak Frites because I had heard amazing things about them. They lived up to the hype. The steak on top was cut thin so I barely needed to cut it in order to easily eat it. I liked to get some steak, fry, and onion aioli on my fork for a flavorful bite. The onion was chopped really small so it wasn’t overpowering or crunchy, but it provided a nice flavor for the sauce.
We thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside. The view was incredible. We watched the Aerophile balloon go up and down and sway in the breeze. A few more people joined us out on the balcony, but it never felt crowded.
I could have enjoyed this view all day, but we went to check out some shops and have some ice cream at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain. For a full recap of our trip, check out the video below!
Overall I would recommend Wine Bar George if you only have an intolerance, as they seemed to have cross-contamination with their grill. But if that’s not an issue for you, then it was a great meal! I’d also suggest it for just drinks too!
