La Hacienda de San Angel Gluten Free Dinner Review
*Review from January 2021*
La Hacienda de San Angel is one of our favorite restaurants at Epcot. It’s located in the World Showcase, in the Mexico Pavilion. It is not in the main Pyramid, it’s the restaurant across from the Pyramid. It’s a great restaurant to watch fireworks from (when they return)!
*La Hacienda de San Angel is not owned by Disney, so allergy procedures may differ from Disney’s procedures
We checked in at the stand outside, and when they confirmed our reservation, we were told to go inside and that we would be called shortly. After a little while, we were seated. One side of the restaurant is entirely windows, making it a great spot to watch Illuminations (RIP) or HarmonioUS (maybe, we’ll see).
I love the decorations in this restaurant, make sure to look up because the lights are so pretty!
They do not have an allergy menu, but gluten free options are marked on the regular menu.
La Hacienda de San Angel also has many of the same margaritas that are available in La Cava del Tequilla.
For an appetizer, we always get the Crema de Elote. It’s a creamed corn soup, and it is so good. We even tried to make it at home, but it wasn’t as good as theirs. If you don’t like spiciness, I recommend asking for it without the Sriracha.
I have ordered a couple of different entrées here. The Enchiladas de Vegetales was really good, but it was a lot of food. And since I have to get the Crema de Elote every time (it’s basically a rule in our family), it’s too much food for me.
The last time we went, I ordered the Flautas, which they were able to make with corn tortillas. I really enjoyed them, it was the perfect amount of food. Nick ordered an entrée that came with rice and beans, which were enough to share, so I was able to enjoy the sides as well.
I highly recommend La Hacienda de San Angel for lunch or dinner while you’re at Epcot. It is a fantastic restaurant, and you MUST get the Crema de Elote as an appetizer!
