Tony’s Town Square Gluten Free Lunch/Dinner Review
Lunch review from January 2019 is below the December 2020 Dinner Review.
Dinner Review from 2020
After a day at Magic Kingdom, we had dinner at Tony’s Town Square. Tony’s is located to the right as you walk under the Train Station when entering Magic Kingdom. Tony’s is themed to Lady and the Tramp and has Italian food. We were seated in the front room, which features a fantastic view of the Flagpole area, and we were able to watch calvacades from our table.
The menu had changed a little since it was during Covid, but most of the options were still gluten free.
They brought out gluten free rolls that were warm and in individually wrapped packaging. We also ordered a Caprese salad as an appetizer. The Caprese was really good and I also liked to dip my roll in the balsamic glaze from the Caprese.
I ordered the Grilled Chicken Parmigiana and it was so good! The chicken was fantastic, and the pasta and sauce were good too. I have never had a bad meal at Tony’s, and as far as gluten free pasta goes, it’s some of the best at Disney! (The best is at Il Mulino, but that’s a different story).
Overall, we had a fantastic dinner at Tony’s Town Square. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for a more affordable option for a sit-down restaurant in Magic Kingdom!
Lunch Review From 2019
Tony’s Town Square is a table service restaurant in Magic Kingdom. It is to the right as you enter, next to where you can meet Mickey and Tinkerbell at Town Square Theater. They only serve lunch and dinner. We had a lunch reservation as soon as they opened for the day. We arrived a little early, so we waited in the lobby for a little while, where they were showing Lady and The Tramp II (which was my favorite movie as a child!). At 11:00am the Dapper Dans arrived and sang a special song to open the restaurant. We were seated in the front room shortly after that. The room had windows all around so that we could see out into Magic Kingdom.
Tony’s mainly features Italian cuisine. The allergy friendly menu had many options, as shown below.
As you can see, all of the options on the allergy menu are okay for Gluten/Wheat allergies. The meal started with some bread and olive oil. The gluten free bread came individually wrapped to ensure no cross-contamination. It had been heated as well. It was a standard roll, nothing special, but I enjoyed being able to eat my own bread while Hubby ate his “gluten-full” bread.
I ordered the allergy friendly spaghetti with meatballs. It was pretty standard for gluten free pasta, nothing special, but still good. I enjoyed the meatballs, as I usually don’t get to eat them. It was a good meal, but not a restaurant I need to go back to every trip. Hubby ordered the “gluten-full” Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and said it was delicious. If we come back, it will definitely be for him to order that again.
Overall, Tony’s Town Square was an okay lunch. It wasn’t horrible, but it was definitely not my favorite place to dine in Magic Kingdom. It is the only gluten free pasta option in Magic Kingdom to my knowledge, so if you’re wanting to get your pasta fix, it’s not a bad option. (Also I just now noticed the Chocolate Cake option on the menu, so I might be back to try that!)
