New and Returning Entertainment Coming to Walt Disney World!
There’s more Entertainment coming to Walt Disney World next year! This week, many new and returning shows and parades at Walt Disney World were announced at the Destination D23 event! Let’s take a look at what was announced:
Finding Nemo the Musical
I shared the news a few months ago that Finding Nemo The Musical will be reimagined, and now more details have been shared! This new show will be titled “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” This show will be set in the timeline of Finding Dory, and the theater will transport you to the Marine Life Institute. Many of the original songs will be featured from the original show, and the fish from the P. Sherman fish tank will tell the story of Nemo and how they got to California. This show will open sometime in 2022.
Fantasmic!
Also returning in 2022 is Fantasmic!, the night show at Hollywood Studios. The show will have an all new sequence when it returns, featuring stunts, special effects, live performers, and more!
Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire
At Magic Kingdom, a new stage show for the 50th anniversary is coming to the Castle Stage! Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire will feature scenes from the previous stage show, Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire, with a new opening and new finale for the 50th anniversary.
Disney Adventure Friends Calvacade
In addition to the other Calvacades at Magic Kingdom, a new one will be making its way through Magic Kingdom soon. Disney Adventure Friends Calvacade will feature the most characters in a Calvacade so far, including The Incredibles, Miguel from “Coco”, Merida, Moana, Baloo and King Louie from “The Jungle Book”, José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros”, Nick and Judy from “Zootopia”, and many more!
Festival of Fantasy Parade
And Returning to Magic Kingdom in 2022 (in addition to the many Calvacades), is the Festival of Fantasy Parade! From Disney Parks Blog, “This vibrant and joyous celebration of Fantasyland brings to the streets of Magic Kingdom Park dozens of beloved Disney characters and stories, from the Disney Princess Garden to a carnival of color presided over by none other than Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.” This parade is my favorite, and I am so excited to see it returning!
That’s all the new and returning entertainment coming to Walt Disney World in the next year that has been announced so far. Which of these are you most excited about? It’s going to be an exciting year next year as the 50th anniversary celebrations continue! For more information, you can check out this post by Disney Parks Blog.
