I always love hearing what other people bring with them to the Theme Parks, and so I wanted to share with y’all what I pack in my bag when I visit Universal Florida.
Fanny Pack
At Universal, it’s easiest to bring a fanny pack instead of a backpack. Fanny packs with a buckle closure are allowed on every ride except Hulk and Rip Ride Rocket (nothing is allowed on those rides, you even have to go through a medal detector). You can still bring a backpack to the park, you’ll just have to put it in a locker to ride most rides.
This is the fanny pack that I use, I got it off amazon and it works great. It has an inside pocket so I can stash important items, and it’s big enough to fit my GoPro, phone, and sunglasses at the same time. The link for it can be found below.
Sunglasses
It’s sunny in Florida most days. I always regret it when I forget my sunglasses.
Collapsible Water Bottle
I got this collapsible water bottle and it’s fantastic. It holds 2 cups of water (I measured!) and collapses down small so I can fit it in my fanny pack. It also has a clip on it so I can clip it to my fanny pack when it’s full. To fill it, you just unroll it and then blow into it so it inflates and can be filled with water. The Amazon link is below (I got the 0.5 liter/16 oz one):
Hand Sanitizer
Kind of self explanatory right now. Universal does have hand sanitizer everywhere, but I like having my own too.
Hair Ties
I always keep a couple of extra hair ties with me in case it gets hot (very common in Florida) or my hair gets all messed up from riding roller coasters.
Sea-Bands
These bands are motion sickness bands that I use on a lot of the simulator and 3D rides. They are wrist bands that have a plastic ball in them that goes on the inside of your wrist. There is a pressure point that having the pressure there helps with motion sickness supposedly. I’ve been using these bands since I started getting car sickness back in 2016 and they really help. They’re super small and stash easily in my fanny pack. I just put them on when I’m in line for a ride that I know gives me motion sickness. Amazon link below:
Mask
Universal requires masks right now. I like to bring a second mask in case I get wet on a water ride (they do let you remove your mask for water rides) or if it’s hot and it gets sweaty, or if my first mask breaks. It’s always good to have a backup.
Health Insurance Card
I like to keep my health insurance card with me just in case something happens. I don’t bring my full wallet with me to the park, so I make sure to bring my health insurance card so I have it with me.
Extra Credit Card
While I keep my main credit card in my lanyard, I like to bring a backup just in case and keep it in my fanny pack.
GoPro
I vlog when I go to the parks, so I bring my GoPro with me.
GoPro Batteries
I also keep spare batteries for the GoPro with me.
Phone
Does anyone go anywhere without their phone anymore? I always make sure to have it with me because all of the wait times can be found in the Universal Florida app, and that’s how you get virtual line passes as well.
In My Lanyard:
Annual Pass
I need this pass to get in the park (well, actually it’s on my phone in the Universal App, so I don’t technically need the card), and to get my merchandise and food discounts. I keep it in my lanyard for easy access.
ID
Instead of scanning my fingerprint, I like to show my ID, so I keep that with me in my lanyard so I can pull it out with my pass.
Cash
I keep a few dollars worth of cash with me just in case. You never know when you might need cash, even though Universal encourages card or contactless payments.
Credit Card
I keep my credit card in my lanyard so I don’t have to dig in my bag for it.
Did I miss anything that you have to have with you at the park? Let me know in the comments!
